| Description | Dodson Middle School is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District and Cluster 26. Dodson Middle School is also a participant of Project INSPIRE, 32 school communication based technology project. Our goal is to help teachers integrate technology into the curriculum, so that we can improve student achievement. As the Instructional Facilitator for Project INSPIRE, and Dodson's Technology Coordinator, I instruct teachers and students in the use of technology. Bugscope will be used as a teaching model for integrating technology into the curriculum. As a science teacher, now technology teacher, my computer students ages, 11-14, will participate in the Bugscope project. These students will use scientific methodology and technological knowledge to gather and process information. Through this process students will learn the importance of integrating information, while allowing them to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of science. To further share their experiences with other students, parents and teachers, the students will be responsible developing and maintaining a web site on the project. This web site will be housed on Dodson's award winning web site. The students will create an article to be placed in the clusters newsletter. |
