The Project

Project Title Insect adaptations to harsh environments
Insects To Study < LEFT BLANK >
Project Description The students will be studying habitats as part of the Science curriculum. As we do not have microscopy in the Junior grades, we do not have the tools to look really close at insects. We will be asking, "What parts of the insect's body help it to deal with harsh environments?" Some other groups will be asking, "How are the mouthparts of an insect that eats wood different from the mouthparts of an insect that eats plants and different from an insect that eats other insects.", and the last set of groups will be looking at, "How can we get clues from an insect's body to decide which habitat it is most suited for?" Follow the bugscope exploration, they will be creating "endangered insect" posters for Earth Day including the habitat conservation and adaptation component. Any help you could give would be much appreciated. Thank you.
