Bugscope Team They are in the order of Lepidoptera. There are many families of moths. not sure which one this one is.
Bugscope Team some common families of moths include, noctuids and saturniids.
Bugscope Team the latter being the larger more colourful ones that you might have heard of like the luna moth or the comet moth

Bugscope Team we are using electrons to image and not light. Electrons are much smaller than the wavelength of light. This microscope can see things as small as 2 nanometers!

Bugscope Team we beam electrons at samples that have been coated with gold-palladium. the samples are in a vacuum. when the electrons hit them, they produce what are then called secondary electrons that give us the views we see now

Insects To Study	Monarch Butterfly (and others)
Project Description	There are two focuses (no pun intended): first, to look far more closely at what we observed first hand in the classroom the Monarch, and the second, is to look at how 'we' often mimic nature in our designs (e.g., how much velcro is like the cremaster and the silk button idea).
