The Project

Project Title Monarch Madness
Insects To Study Monarch Butterfly
Project Description I have had the distinct pleasure to include Bugscope with my Science instruction for the last few years. All experiences have been fantastic! As before, I wish to bring the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly "up close and personal" as my students learn how these amazing creatures are able to survive using their body adaptations such as scales on their wings, hooks on their feet, proboscis, button of "silk" used to securely attach the chrysalis, etc. I am teaching the broader goal of being global ambassadors and citizens of the world as my students learn the importance and their role of taking care of living things. I will also be inviting my school administration to the Bugscope session to demonstrate this technology and hopefully inspire my colleagues to utilize the SEM, too.

Miscellaneous

Where did you hear about Bugscope? I read about Bugscope a few years ago in the NSTA magazine for teachers called, Science and Children.
