| School Homepage | www.rsdeaf.org |
| Location | Rochester New York, USA |
| Community | Students transported from various local districts and districts in Southwestern NY; residential component during the regular school year |
| Type | Private, state-supported |
| Subjects Taught | summer school - all; school year - science |
| Grades Taught | I teach 5th during summer school, however the school is servicing children preschool-8th grade for the summer |
| Number of Students | 7-15 - unsure how many would like to attend; will be determined when date and time are established |
| Project Title | (none at this time) |
| Insects To Study | I would like to use smaller specimens, if possible - flea and 2 or 3 others. My students are still investigating. |
| Project Description | Summer school classes are quite small. This would allow me to involve more of the students in attendance and hopefully make the session more 'intimate'. I would like to invite students of varying ages to the session; the race, gender and ethnicity would vary depending on the date and time of the experiment. (I could forward this information when it is available.) I am currently working on the science curriculum committee at our school. I am hoping that, if your program continues, we will be able to make use of it in other classes and areas during the school year. I also network with other teachers from public and private programs in my area. I would certainly share my experience with them. |
